Sketch Effect: Adding color to the eyes

1. Upon request, here's how I added color to the eyes.

First, 'Set the Foreground color' that you would like to make the eye's. (I used '#1B9DE7')
Next zoom in on the picture and using the 'Elliptical Marquee Tool (M)' make two selections to cover both eyes, as I have captured below.

2. Next, go to the 'Layer/New Adjustment Layer/ Hue/Saturation' menu item.

3. Next, because this is a 'New' adjustment layer, the next screen prompts you with a few more options. The only one to be concerned with here, is to make sure to check the option 'Group with Previous Layer'. (As I have captured below.)

4. You'll be prompted with the 'Hue/Saturation' control panel, and from there all you need to do is check the 'Colorize' feature to the lower right of the panel. (As I have captured)

All this will do is use the 'Foreground' blue color we set earlier and 'Colorize' the selection.

5. So this is what the image looks like now.

And this is what the 'Layers Palette' looks like.

However, if you zoom in on the eyes again, you'll notice they are not quite a perfect fit!!
Just a few more steps to clean this up.

So all you need to do is, keep the zoom in place, have the 'Hue/Saturation' adjustment layer selected. Hit the 'X' key to set the foreground color to 'Black'. Then select the 'Brush Tool (B)' and paint/mask the excessive areas of blue. TIP:Using 'Black' color 'mask's' (hides), using 'White' color reveals.

This concludes how to get color into the eye's. If need be adjust the 'Opacity' of the 'Hue/Saturation' adjustment layer for a softer affect.

Here are some alternative colors.
